Dedicated Lawyers Serving Victims of Mesothelioma and Asbestos Cancer
Receiving a mesothelioma diagnosis can be
devastating, both for you and your family. The illness can take years after
being exposed to asbestos to manifest, and once it does, it is extremely
difficult to treat. The (approximate) 3,000 individuals diagnosed with the
cancer each year often find themselves dealing with this illness in their
retirement, facing endless medical bills and questions.
It has been well established that asbestos
causes mesothelioma and other ailments, yet certain industries continued to
expose workers and consumers to the toxic material in spite of this knowledge,
for decades, leading to the issues we have today with all asbestos-related
disease. Rather than warn those who worked with the material every day, or
provide them with the necessary protection, instead, innocent victims and their
families were placed in harm’s way. This is especially the case for veterans
who worked in navy shipyards and related professions.
Many who are now dealing with mesothelioma
and other negative repercussions find that they have to bring claims against
those responsible in order to ensure that their medical bills and families are
taken care of. In these circumstances,
working with an experienced, aggressive attorney who focuses on mesothelioma
cases can help ensure that justice is achieved.
At the Throneberry Law Group, we know what it’s like
to deal with a mesothelioma diagnosis in the family. Our principal attorney
Michael Throneberry dealt with his father being diagnosed with and battling the
illness. After navigating both the health care and legal system on his behalf,
he decided to dedicate his firm to serving mesothelioma victims. Since then,
we’ve helped connect clients with the right treatment centers and information
necessary to decide whether pursuing a claim against those responsible for
compensation makes sense. Contact us today for a free consultation and we’ll

Asbestos
in Saint Louis & Throughout Missouri
Mesothelioma develops as a result of exposure
to asbestos fibers, which can become lodged within the lungs after being
breathed in, ultimately leading to scarring and tumor development, usually in
the lungs, but sometimes in the tissue surrounding the organs in the abdomen or
heart. Asbestos was historically used throughout Missouri as it was in the rest
of the United States in construction, shipyards, and related areas—mostly for
insulation and roofing. Although studies definitively show that it is linked to
various cancers and there is no known safe level of asbestos exposure, it is
not yet entirely banned in the United States. Many can still be exposed when
older buildings are demolished or renovated.
Asbestos can also be found at some chemical
and/or power generation sites. Saint Louis is one such city in the state where
asbestos jobsites are known to be located. If you have worked in particular
capacities in Saint Louis and/or in other areas of Missouri, you and/or your
family may have been exposed.
